School Psychologist

Hi!  I work primarily in the Special Education Department of Columbia Falls Schools with children in preschool through 8th grade.  I can usually be found in room 309A at Glacier Gateway (near the downstairs gym) or in the room between the Keyboarding and Science classrooms in the 7th grade pod at the Junior High.

I work with whole classes, small groups, and individual students, parents and school staff to help support students with learning or social-emotional/behavioral needs.

I have training in administering and interpreting IQ tests, as well as other measures that help our school teams determine if a student is eligible for Special Education.  I am also available to teach lessons to students about a variety of topics that help them be more successful in school ( listening/good student skills, making friends, resolving conflict, solving problems, etc.)

You can contact me by phone (892-6540 ext. 2242) or email (k_miller@cfmtschools.net)    I can help parents and teachers by providing you with information about learning concerns, emotional concerns, behavioral concerns or by connecting you with resources online and  in the community for additional support.

My family and I moved to Columbia Falls in the summer of 2002.  At that time my children were ages 3 and 4 1/2.  Now they are both in college!  I came here with 10 years of teaching experience, two years of graduate training at the University of Georgia in School Psychology, and 5 years of experience as a School Psychologist.  Now I'm enjoying 30+ years of work as an educator! I have a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education, a  Master's degree in Educational Psychology, and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology.

I hope as a student, parent or educator you will feel comfortable discussing your concerns about things like ADHD, depression, anxiety, behavior concerns, learning problems, sleep issues, and other problems that affect school performance with me, and seeking solutions and growth for all our students.
